What are default trainings?

Default trainings are pre-defined training programs based on 20+ years of experience.

What is a default training?

  • A default training is a curated selection of courses based on IS-FOX's 20+ years of expertise, included with your subscription out-of-the-box. These trainings are built on the following principles:
    • Expert advisory: By years of experience in awareness, compliance, audits, espionage prevention, incident response, penetration testing and more, we have identified the core journeys that most organizations need to keep their employees up-to-date and aware of.
    • Adjusted to your employees journey: The content of each year evolves to match the learning progress of your employees. This means that each year, the courses are different and more specialized. Experts call it 'modular learning'.
    • Set and Forget: You only need to enroll your users once, we got the rest covered!

How do they work?

  • Provisioning: The default trainings are automatically created and provisioned the moment you start your subscription (either free trial or direct purchase). You can find them directly in the overview or in the navigation menu on the left.
  • Starting date: The default trainings begin on the first day of the month when your subscription starts, whether it's a free trial or a direct purchase. For example, if your subscription started on 23.06.2025, then your default trainings will have 01.06.2025 as their start date.
  • Phases and courses: The default trainings follow a three-year cycle:
    • Foundational knowledge in the first year
    • A refresher or advanced content in the second year
    • A refresher or test-out course in the third year; whoever passes the test is done, everyone else needs to re-do the chapters the test was failed for.
    • After the third year, the cycle restarts.

What happens when I enroll participants?

When you enroll an participants, they will start with the first phase of the training. Different users can be at different steps of their journey (e.g. some at year 1 and some at year 3), this is not a problem, as we track the course completion across all the different years. For example, anyone who passes the first phase automatically switches to the second phase in the second year.

By the way, what is a training?
